ALMATY, Sept 25
(THE GLOBE)
It is known that “Pokolenye” movement named five candidates, whose election would be the most favourable for Almaty, in their opinion. On Saturday “Pokolenye” held an unofficial meeting of the five candidates to the Mazhilis, to ‘give them the last instruction before the election.” (the leader of “Pokolenye” Irina Savostina).
“We understand all responsibility of deputies of the new Parliament. It will be possible to improve something only when honest persons come to power,” Bakhytzhamal Bekturganova, a candidate in the Medeu election district announced.
Pyotr Svoik, the co-chairman of “Azamat” movement also emphasised that first of all it was necessary to repay due pensions, salaries and other social grants.
Gani Kasymov, a self-nominated candidate stated that it was especially important to protect interests of the population of the former capital.
“Processes, which will be observed in Almaty, will influence the regions as well,” he added.
“Of course, the fact that the Almaty budget has only 18% of the city’s revenues is striking. For example, in western countries, this index comes to about 33%,” Seidakhmet Kuttykadam affirmed.
According to the leader of “Orleu” movement, now the Parliament resembles to a printing machine, which produces improper laws. That is why, in his opinion, the legislative mechanism and procedure of approval of laws should be changed.
Kazis Toguzbaev, a representative of RPPK said that evaluating the work of the present Parliament ‘it is possible to affirm that it is weak, especially concerning the military-political issue.”
