Our voting system works in favour of the authorities, — the leaders of “Azamat”

(THE GLOBE)

“We doubt that the probated voting system existing in the republic may lead to that an absolute majority of the Parliament sits will be occupied by representatives of the authorities’ party,” one of the leaders of “Azamat” announced on Wednesday in Almaty.

Galym Abilsiitov believes that they will speak, presenting interests of the present regime and, in addition, interests of their foreign masters. Such a passive order will introduce nothing new into the Parliament.

According to Mr. Abilsiitov, they appealed to the Central Election Commission to attract their attention to negative aspects obvious in the voting system of Kazakhstan.

The leaders of “Azamat” party persist that the lists of electors are to be included in the number of documents, which are to be obligatorily controlled by the election commissions. They also want the election commission to prepare not draft protocols of votes’ calculations, but the final ones (i.e. not with a pencil, but with a pen). All members of the commissions are to sign the protocols. Copies of the protocols are to be handled out to observers of political parties and public unions.

“We demand political parties, which are allowed to participate in the election, including by parties; lists, to be checked by their compliance with legal way of financing of their parties,” the leader of “Azamat” party announced.

The leaders of “Azamat” party believe that the most number of the Parliament sits will be occupied by “Otan” party. If the rest sits are occupied by the Civil party owing to foreign money, several representatives of other parties will just create a favourable background for such a ‘democratic Parliament’.

“On August 15 we conducted the conference, where we nominated our candidates. We nominated 10 persons to the Mazhilis and almost 30 persons — in one-mandate districts,” Galym Abilsiitov stated.

Leaders of “Azamat” party counts on 10 to 15 sits in the Parliament in one-mandate districts, where they nominated 30 candidates. Thus, taking into consideration our candidates in election districts, our party is absolutely ready to conduct a worthy election campaign.
