“Orleu” movement votes for the Parliament form of government

ALMATY, April 14 (THE GLOBE)

“The presidential form of government has become obsolete in the ex-soviet countries”, the leader of “Orleu” movement declared in Almaty on April 14.

Seidakhmet Kuttykadam believes that today Kazakhstan requires the Parliamentary form of government and proposes the reversion back to the Constitution of 1993. In addition, Mr. Kuttydadam proposes the establishment of a Public Control Commission with the participation of foreign observers, to introduce the appointment of akims, judges and heads of the Central election commission by direct election, and to free them from executive power.

The leaders of the republican movement “Orleu” held a press conference, where they talked about the efforts of some state organizations to prevent them from conducting of the Constituent assembly.

Nevertheless, the Constituent assembly of the republican movement “Orleu” was held, though in an uncomfortable gymnastic hall in the House of democracy. About 300 people, the representatives of the movement from all the regions, took part in the conference. Such famous celebrities as Moris Simashko, Gerold Belger, Abdizhamal Nurpeisov were present. The chairman of the movement presented his report “Analysis of the political and social-economic situation in Kazakhstan and the tasks of the public movement “Orleu”.

The Charter and Program of the “Orleu” movement were approved and the governing bodies were elected at the conference. Seidakhmet Kuttykadam was elected to the post of the chairman of the republican movement “Orleu”. At present the leaders of the movement are preparing the required documents to register the national party in the Ministry of Justice.
